A commuter train collided with a work vehicle outside Linköping just before midnight on Sunday evening. Three people who were working near the track were lightly injured.

The work vehicle is said to have received a powerful impact from the train and three people working on the track were injured, one of them suffered some form of crush injury, but they were awake and able to talk, says Christian Lind, duty officer at the rescue service Östra Götaland.

The accident occurred near Malmslätt. The commuter train came at high speed and stopped first a bit further away after the collision.

I don't know if there were passengers on the train, but no one needed to be evacuated and the train could continue after a short while, says Christian Lind.

It is unclear what type of work vehicle is involved.

At 00.30, an ambulance was still on site, but the rescue service has completed its work.
