Mikael Ymer's 18-month suspension for doping offenses, after failing to report his whereabouts, ended on January 17. Now the Swedish tennis star has reached the final in his competitive comeback.

The first steps in his comeback take Mikael Ymer in an ITF tournament – the level below the ATP and Challenger tour – in Luxembourg.

There, the 25-year-old is clear for Sunday's final after defeating Estonian Daniil Glinka in the semifinal with 5–7 (2–7), 6–2, 6–3. On the way there, Ymer has won three more matches.

Ymer is selected for the Swedish Davis Cup team that meets Australia at the Royal Tennis Hall on January 31-February 1.

Ymer was at best 50th in the world ranking.
