When Jacob Eklund first received the proposal to make new films about the action hero Johan Falk, he thought it was a stupid idea.
Then, a year or so ago, I started thinking about this whole old men fighting thing. I saw “The Old Man” with Jeff Bridges and I loved it. So why not?
So now Eklund, along with Marie Richardson, who plays Falk's wife Helén, will make three new Johan Falk films. In total, they have previously made twenty films about this Gothenburg police officer, who, after being a bit too much of a loner to remain in the police force, became a freelancer.
Filming of three new films will start at the end of the summer with a planned premiere in the fall of 2027, Film i Väst says in a press release.
