Minnesota led the game for a long time after going up 3–0 in the first period. Minnesota's first goal was scored by Marcus Johansson after just 34 seconds.

But a Colorado goal in the second period was followed by two more goals in the third period, with Nathan MacKinnon tying the score with 1:23 left.

In overtime, Colorado won on Brett Kulak's goal at 3:52. This sends Colorado to the semifinals, where they will face either Vegas or Anaheim.

Corrected: A previous version had incorrect information about when the goals were scored. A couple of other things have also been corrected.

Quarterfinals:

Colorado–Minnesota 4–3 (Colorado won the series 4–1)
