There was a lot going on at Sunday night's late hockey game at Ball Arena in Denver.
Colorado scored three goals in the space of two minutes to take a 3-0 lead in the first period. Marcus Johansson later reduced the deficit for Minnesota, which had turned it into a 5-4 lead by the end of the second period.
Then came the next twist.
Colorado tied the game at 5–5 before the second period ended, and then Cale Makar scored twice in the third as the home team pulled away for a 9–6 victory. Gabriel Landeskog assisted on one of Makar's goals.
Jesper Wallstedt was in goal for Minnesota and allowed eight goals before Nathan MacKinnon scored the game's final goal into an empty net.
