US President Donald Trump is inviting Colombian President Gustavo Petro to the White House. Trump has changed his tone on the country after previously suggesting a military attack on Colombia.
The leaders spoke by phone on Wednesday, and, according to Trump, the conversation was friendly. Trump has previously accused Petro of manufacturing cocaine and selling it to the United States.
Colombia has previously been one of the United States' most loyal allies in Latin America.
