The couple's landlord has received emails about their alleged sexual deviance, the rumor also spread at one of their workplaces. During 2024 and 2025, a large number of posts were published in various Facebook groups with pictures of the couple, and claims that they are pedophiles who engage in molesting and photographing children for sexual purposes.

The man is now convicted despite his denial of defamation, harassment and unlawful persecution. After serving a prison sentence of one year and two months, he will be deported from Sweden without the possibility of returning for ten years.

He will also have to pay close to 200,000 kronor in damages to the affected persons, who according to the verdict have been caused "very large psychological strains".
