After sleet and above-zero temperatures in large parts of the country, colder weather is on the way.

On Sunday, a high pressure ridge will provide most of the country with respite. From northern Dalarna northwards it will generally be below zero degrees, and further south one or a few degrees above zero, according to SMHI.

High pressure will continue to prevail on Monday. At times the sun may peek out in Götaland, and clear weather may also occur in the far north.

From Tuesday onwards, it will be mostly calm and gradually colder throughout the country.

In parts of Götaland, the beginning of the week may offer some sun and a few degrees above zero during the day on Tuesday and Wednesday, but otherwise it will generally be below zero.

The high-pressure weather looks set to persist this week, and during the second half of the week temperatures may drop further, according to SMHI.
