The cold has a firm grip on the country. The next 24 hours could bring sub-zero temperatures across the country.

Skåne may end up right around zero, but forecasts say the temperature may stay below zero across Sweden between 7 p.m. on Saturday and 7 p.m. on Sunday.

"There are many indications that it will be a national ice day," Emma Härenstam, meteorologist at SMHI, tells Aftonbladet.

The last time Sweden had a national ice day was at the beginning of January 2024.
