Trump has criticized talk shows for being biased, and the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) recently published new guidelines requiring party representatives to be given equal television time.
However, Colbert says there is an exception specifically for talk shows. FCC Chairman Brendan Carr has not yet removed it, according to Colbert.
"But CBS did it generously for him and unilaterally told me that I had to follow the equal-time rules, something I've never been asked to do for an interview in the 21 years I've had this job," Colbert said on his show.
