Program host Stephen Colbert expresses support for his colleague Jimmy Kimmel, whose talk show has been stopped indefinitely since Kimmel commented on the suspected murderer of right-wing profile Charlie Kirk. This is obvious censorship, says Colbert.

The statement is made during the recording of Colbert's talk show on CBS, according to CNBC.

Jimmy, I support you and your staff 100 percent, he says and calls the US President Donald Trump a "dictator".

Also the retired TV legend David Letterman expresses support, and calls ABC's message about Kimmel's program "ridiculous".

One cannot go around and kick someone because one is afraid or because one is trying to flatter an authoritarian, criminal administration in the Oval Office, he fumes.

It was on Wednesday evening local time that the Disney-owned ABC announced that the program "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" would be stopped. Trump wrote on social media that it was "good news for the USA".

This summer, the news came that the talk show "The Late Show", with host Stephen Colbert, will be buried next year. The TV channel CBS claims that the closure is a "financial decision", while critics mean that the TV company has laid down for President Trump.
