Half-empty stands have characterized the club team World Championship in the USA. As a result of so-called dynamic prices - controlled by demand - the prices are now falling ahead of Tuesday's semifinal at Metlife Stadium outside New York: from 474 dollars (approximately 4,500 kr) to 13 dollars (approximately 124 kr) for a standard ticket. A dramatic price drop over just 72 hours, writes The Athletic.
This means that supporters who bought their tickets before the price reduction may have paid as much as 35 times more than the one who buys their ticket today.
The newspaper points out that the match tickets are now cheaper than a beer (14 dollars) inside the arena.
According to reports, the arenas have been filled to an average of 51 percent of their capacity during the tournament.
The other semifinal of the playoffs will be played between PSG and Real Madrid on Wednesday.
