The club manager for Turkish MKE Ankaragücü attacked and threatened to kill the referee.
Now he has been sentenced to three years in prison.
It was after a match against Caykur Rizespor in the Turkish football league in December that Faruk Koca rushed onto the pitch and knocked down the referee. At the same time, he screamed: "I'll kill you".
The Turkish Football Federation (TFF) cancelled all matches in the top league for eight days after the scandal.
On Monday, Faruk Koca was sentenced to prison for three years and seven months.
In the attack, the referee was also kicked by other leaders and suffered head injuries.
Koca has left his post and apologized, but insists that MKE Ankaragücü was unfairly treated in the 1–1 match.
