Clothing sales increased in November, especially in e-commerce, according to the Style Index from the Swedish Chamber of Commerce.

Overall, clothing sales increased by 7.5 percent during the month and footwear by 1 percent, compared to November last year.

Clothing sales in e-commerce saw a significant boost of 17.2 percent, while online shoe sales increased 14 percent.

Physical stores had a more meager growth. Clothing sales increased by 3.6 percent while shoe sales decreased by 1.7 percent. During Black Month, consumers usually prefer e-commerce, notes Svensk Handels CEO Sofia Larsson.

Sales of outerwear also appear to have decreased, likely due to the warm weather, according to Swedish Commerce.
