According to the interview with the Austrian newspaper Kurier, Eastwood, who turned 95 years old over the weekend, plans. In the interview, the contemporary film industry was also criticized and the quotes got a wide spread.

However, the Oscar-winning actor and director later stated that the interview had never taken place.

”I can confirm that I have turned 95. I can also confirm that I have never given an interview to an Austrian publication called Kurier, or any other writer in recent weeks, and that the interview is completely false", said Eastwood in a statement published by Deadline.

The newspaper Kurier announced that the matter would be investigated – and now writes that the editor-in-chief Martin Gebhart states that the journalist in question, who works in Hollywood, used quotes from a total of 18 different interview occasions where several other journalists participated.

The quotes are genuine, but it's neither an exclusive nor a new interview as the article made it seem. Kurier also writes that the journalist's method is not compatible with the newspaper's standard and that they will not work with the person in question in the future.
