More than 30 countries have written a joint letter opposing Brazil's draft at the UN climate summit COP30 because it does not include a path forward to phase out fossil fuels, according to Colombia's delegation.

The latest draft does not mention fossil fuels at all.

Countries from Europe, Latin America and Asia, among others, have signed the letter. France and Belgium confirm that they have signed it.

COP30 is scheduled to conclude on Friday evening.

On Thursday, the meeting had to be interrupted after a major fire broke out. The premises reopened on Thursday evening, local time.

13 people needed medical attention after inhaling smoke.
