Twelve well-coiffed Danes took part in this year's championship, the fourth in a row. In front of cheering spectators in Copenhagen, they showed off their hockey locks, defined by short hair in the front and longer in the back.
Organizer Steffen Stiw Weber got his first hockey haircut after a hair transplant. When he realized he wouldn't be able to participate in the American championship, he decided to organize a Danish version.
I just thought, “Okay, I'll fix it myself here in Denmark.”
The contestants were judged based on the style of their hairstyles, uniqueness, and their overall performance on stage.
The winner was 43-year-old construction worker Thomas Berg, who charmed the judges by jumping on a trampoline dressed in neon green.
"It's great to be able to step outside the box a little," the winner said.
