Kylian Mbappé has said he would like to play the World Cup football in France this summer. That won't happen.
Mbappé was not present when national team coach Thierry Henry presented France's preliminary World Cup squad with 25 players.
Even French President Emmanuel Macron has expressed that he wants to see the former Paris SG star – who is expected to sign with Real Madrid shortly – in the French team.
In contrast to most other international tournaments on the men's side, clubs are not required to release their players for the World Cup.
The French team includes players such as PSG duo Warren Zaire-Emery and Bradley Barcola, as well as Lyon's veteran striker Alexandre Lacazette.
