Clavicular, whose real name is Braden Peters, is an influencer from the so-called “manosphere” who has quickly become an internet superstar. His live broadcasts have become the daily talk of the town and, according to the New York Times, generate around one million kronor in revenue every month.
"People are watching because they can't get girls," Clavicular recently told the magazine.
"Mogging"
The alias Clavicular comes from the English “clavicle” - collarbone. It is one of the body parts whose proportions are rigorously scrutinized within “looksmaxxing” - a part of incel culture. Young men use everything from skin care and gym (“softmaxxing”) to fillers, testosterone supplements and jaw surgery (“hardmaxxing”). The goal is a “harmonious” face and minimal body fat in order to “mug” - dominate others with their superior appearance and status.
The pseudo-mathematical system is also used to assess women, or “foids” as Clavicular fans call them. It’s short for “female humanoid.”
“Looksmaxxing” is reminiscent of the appearance obsession of serial killer Patrick Bateman in “American Psycho,” while “mogging” is taken from the model satire “Zoolander.” The newspeak has been compared to both “Ulysses” and “A Clockwork Orange.”
The allure of Clavicular seems to lie in his uncensored and risky journey to “ascend” and achieve his status as “Chad” - the height of male beauty. He advocates “bonesmashing” - hitting himself to get more pronounced jawbones, a method with no medical support. He also claims to have been rendered infertile by steroids and to maintain his weight with the help of methamphetamine.
Partying to "Heil Hitler"
The breakthrough came via controversy after a night out at a club. Clavicular was out with Andrew Tate, an influencer accused of rape, and white power commentator Nick Fuentes, listening to Ye's song "Heil Hitler."
But Clavicular has not yet been canceled. On the contrary, he has been embraced by the mainstream audience and was recently invited to the catwalk at New York Fashion Week. Perhaps because appearance weighs more heavily than political opinions. In an interview with conservative
Clavicular, for example, dismissed Vice President JD Vance as a “subhuman” compared to California’s “mogging” Governor Gavin Newsom ahead of a possible presidential election."He has a very low facial width-to-height ratio. He's fat and has a very sunken side profile, whereas Newsom is a 6-foot-1 Chad," Clavicular said.
