Sheffield United in the English second division is the next club in England to get American owners. An American consortium, COH Sports, is buying the club from the Saudi prince Abdullah bin Mosaad bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud, who in turn bought the club in 2013.
More than a third of the clubs in the four top divisions now have American owners. Sheffield United, who were relegated from the Premier League last season, are currently leading the table, two points ahead of Burnley and one more ahead of third-place Leeds.
