The number of civilian deaths in Ukraine totaled 2,514 in 2025, according to the UN human rights office (OHCHR).

That's the highest number since 2022, when Russia began its full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

In addition to those deaths, 12,142 civilians were injured in Ukraine last year, according to OHCHR.

The UN agency writes the increase is due not only to intensified warfare along the front lines, but also to "the increased use of long-range weapons, which put civilians around the country at higher risk."
