Liverpool continues to top the Premier League table, nine points ahead of second-place Arsenal and third-place Chelsea.

Manchester City is now in fifth place, eleven points behind Liverpool.

The goal-scoring began as early as twelve minutes into the game when Cody Gakpo tapped in Mohamed Salah's pass.

The 2–0 goal came on a penalty after Luis Díaz was brought down by Stefan Ortega in the City goal. Salah converted the penalty, and thus scored one goal and made one assist in the match.

Manchester City is the reigning Premier League champion, and has won the league six times in the last seven years. The exception is 2020, when Liverpool won.

Liverpool will next face Newcastle, Manchester City will meet Nottingham Forest.
