The announced city strike at a number of large companies has been cancelled.

The unions Fastighets and Seko and the employer organization Almega accepted on Sunday a mediator's proposal for a new collective agreement. The agreement, which follows the so-called benchmark, means wage increases of 3.4 percent in the first contract year and 3 percent in the second contract year.

The agreement also guarantees part-time employees the right to the same overtime compensation as full-time employees, the unions write in a joint press release.

The strike warning applied to total work stoppage for cleaning at 14 companies, among others Astra Zeneca, Scania, Volvo Group and Viking Line. The industrial actions would have come into effect on Monday at 6 o'clock.
