The upcoming blockbuster is described as a "mythical action epic" and the filming will take place in "various locations around the world", writes Variety. Lupita Nyong'o, Robert Pattinson, and Charlize Theron are also seen in the star-studded cast.

Filming begins during the first half of 2025 and the audience will get to see the result as early as the summer of 2026. The premiere date is set for July 17.

This is not the first time King Odysseus' attempt to return home after the Trojan War is depicted on the big screen. In 1911, a silent film was made, and in 1954, an Italian blockbuster starring Kirk Douglas in the lead role. The Coen brothers' "Oh Brother, Where Art Thou?" from 2000 is also loosely based on Homer's epic, written around 700 BC.

Christopher Nolan's latest work, the World War II drama "Oppenheimer", was awarded seven Oscars. Among other things, for best director, best film, and best film music to Swedish composer Ludwig Göransson.
