Lassgård, Levengood, Läckberg – and Robbie Williams as a chimpanzee – dominate on the screen and at the cinema this year. Here are the highlights of Christmas on TV and on the white screen.

TV/STREAMING

"Christmas Values" (24/12, SVT).

Mark Levengood is responsible for lighting the Christmas lights just before Donald Duck this year. Levengood promises an inclusive celebration and not too many show numbers in the box.

"Christmas – Sing-along at Skansen" (23/12, SVT1).

Pernilla Wahlgren sings in Christmas from the Solliden stage. Marcus & Martinus, Laleh, and Hasse "Kvinnaböske" Andersson are guests.

"

" (24/12, SVT Play).

SVT is broadcasting Netflix's major production from last spring in rerun. Six episodes of the Astrid Lindgren classic about Ronja and Birk and their adventures in the forest around Mattisborgen. Coming to SVT1 on Christmas Day.

"

" (25/12, SVT).

The interlude with the star-studded boy band from Melodifestivalen gets continued life. Now SVT shows how it went when Björn Gustafsson and the others went to Los Angeles and recorded their new Christmas song.

"

" (25/12, SVT).

It becomes more comedy than drama when Rolf Lassgård plays Prime Minister Thorbjörn Fälldin in the big satirical series about the submarine drama off Karlskrona in 1981. Based on an idea by author Jonas Jonasson.

"

" (25/12, TV4 Play).

Eva Melander plays Haparanda police officer Hannah Wester in the TV version of Hans Rosenfeldt's thriller of the same name about drug deals and large sums of money that come astray along the border with Finland.

"

" (26/12, Netflix).

The second season of the dystopian drama success follows player 456, Gi-hun (Lee Jung Jae), who after winning the competition last time tries to do everything he can to take down the entire macabre phenomenon.

"

" (26/12, Sky Showtime).

Criminal series based on Anders de la Motte's book series "Årstidskvartetten", about what happens when a little boy disappears in Skåne. Julia Ragnarsson, Erik Enge, and Simon J Berger in the lead roles.

FILM

"

" (20/12).

Ralph Fiennes plays the lead role in a thriller about intrigue and secrets in the Vatican in connection with the election of a new pope. Stanley Tucci and Isabella Rossellini are part of the star-studded cast.

"

" (25/12).

Camilla Läckberg's popular children's character has become an animated film with two of her children (big brother Wille and little brother Charlie) as main characters and heroes in the fight against a real supervillain.

"

" (25/12).

Director Michael Gracey lets Jonno Davies play the lead role of Robbie Williams as a chimpanzee, thanks to digital visual effects. The point is to show the pop star as he himself has felt all these years – he is the ape who, like in a circus, stands in the center and is expected to perform all the time. The story of the artist's life is uncompromisingly told with many miserable details about his lifestyle.
