The 33-year-old has been clubless since he left Manchester United after the season and made a training session with Malmö FF last week while waiting for it to become clear with a new club address. He trained with MFF also in the beginning of this week.
The Dane has also played in Ajax, Tottenham, Inter and Brentford, but has never played in Germany before. He has signed until 2027.
