Eighteen years after the second X-Files film was released, director Chris Carter wants to remake it and get it right. The title has now been changed to “I Want to Believe - Doctor Frankenshteyn,” and the film will also be about Frankenstein, the classic monster.
Before the film was first released, Carter was told it was too scary, and he adapted it.
"Now I have a chance to go back and make the horror movie I always wanted to make," he said, according to Entertainment Weekly.
The film was panned by critics in 2008. The new recut version will premiere on August 14 on Hulu and Disney+.
