Chinese car giant BYD has applied for membership in the European industry association ACEA. No decision has been made yet, but BYD would become the first Chinese car manufacturer to join the organization.
Europe imposed punitive tariffs on Chinese automakers in 2024 to make it easier for European car companies to compete. Membership would give BYD the opportunity to raise its voice through ACEA, Bloomberg writes.
