Guo Wengui, a Chinese business magnate and dollar billionaire in self-imposed exile, has been sentenced to 30 years in prison in the United States for extensive financial fraud.
Guo left China for the United States about ten years ago and is an outspoken critic of the Chinese Communist Party.
Prosecutors have called his fraud scheme "astonishing" and accused him of destroying the lives of hundreds of people between 2018 and 2023.
