The US Finance Minister Scott Bessent, Trade Minister Howard Lutnick and Trade Representative Jamieson Greer are among the participants. They will meet with Chinese representatives, writes Trump on his social media platform Truth Social.
"The meeting should go very well", he writes.
After negotiations in Switzerland in May, the world's two largest economies agreed to put the extremely high levels of import duties on pause for 90 days to make room for negotiations.
Then, among others, Bessent and his Chinese counterpart, Vice Premier He Lifeng, participated.
But lately, it has started to creak in the joints and the tone between Beijing and Washington has frozen again.
On Thursday, Trump spoke on the phone with China's President Xi Jinping for the first time since Trump became president for the second time. Then, trade duties were among the things on the agenda.
