The activity in China's service sector decreased in June, shows a monthly purchasing managers' index from Caixin. The decline was expected, but was larger than what analysts on average had counted on.
Caixin's purchasing managers' index for China's service sector in June fell to 51.2, down from 54.0 in May. The average forecast was 53.4, according to Bloomberg's compilation of forecasts.
An index value above 50 indicates increased activity in the sector.
