For the second month in a row, China's manufacturing industry is declining, despite a pause in the trade war with the USA.

Beijing and Washington agreed earlier in May to pause against each other, although the USA's President Donald Trump on Friday accused China of having breached the agreement.

The Purchasing Managers' Index - an important indicator for the economy and published by the country's official statistics agency - landed at 49.5. Admittedly, a better result than last month's 49.

An index value above 50 traditionally indicates increased activity, while an index value below 50 implies a decline.
