Chinese and other warships are now withdrawing from the waters around Taiwan after the military exercise, the Taiwanese coast guard announced.

During the exercise, which started on Monday, China flew at least 130 fighter jets around the island, and dozens of warships navigated in the waters outside the self-governing territory.

China's army and the so-called rocket forces, which handle the country's ballistic missiles and cruise missiles, also participated in the exercise.

But now the exercise appears to be over. Taiwan still has a force of eleven ships at sea waiting for the last Chinese ships to withdraw, AFP reports.
