China's Foreign Minister Wang Yi has told his colleagues in the G20 countries that a "window for peace" has opened in the Ukraine war.
The statement was made in connection with a meeting in South Africa in the aftermath of the high-level Russian-American meeting in Saudi Arabia, where Ukraine was not invited. China has previously been cautious in commenting on the Ukraine war.
Wang further stated that China supports all efforts to achieve peace, including the "new understanding" between the USA and Russia.
