The pressure on Taiwan and "comprehensive cyber operations against American targets" are signs of China's growing threat to the USA's national security, according to the annual threat assessment. The report is an overview of "collective insights" from the USA's leading intelligence services, on security threats to the USA from other countries and criminal organizations.
"China constitutes the most comprehensive and robust military threat to the USA's national security", it says in the report.
However, China is deemed more "cautious" than Russia, Iran, and North Korea and does not want to appear too "aggressive and disruptive".
