The ministers "exchanged in-depth views on international and regional issues and reached full agreement", says the North Korean state news agency KCNA according to the South Korean news agency Yonhap.
Despite the two countries sometimes having a strained relationship due to North Korea's nuclear program, the neighboring countries have nonetheless had close ties.
Earlier in September, North Korea's dictator Kim Jong-Un met China's President Xi Jinping in China.
