China's government has ordered the country's airlines not to accept further deliveries of aircraft from the American aircraft manufacturer Boeing, reports Bloomberg with reference to anonymous sources.
A decree has also been issued that Chinese airlines should stop purchasing equipment and parts for aircraft from American companies.
The information comes after a trade war has erupted between China and the US, where tariffs have been imposed on goods from the other country at 125 and 145 percent, respectively.
China is also said to be preparing targeted support measures for airlines that lease Boeing aircraft and are now facing higher costs.
Among the orders affected are orders for around ten Boeing 737 Max aircraft, including those for China Southern Airlines, Air China, and Xiamen Airlines, according to industry sources.
