The Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi calls in a statement the way "certain countries" exert pressure on others and create "unfair trade wars" as "extremely selfish".
The Minister does not specifically mention the USA, but says further that the behavior will only backfire.
The comment was made according to a Chinese communiqué in connection with Wang Yi meeting his Uzbek counterpart.
Currently, the US tariffs against China are at 145 percent. China has retaliated with tariffs against the US at 125 percent.
