According to China, there is no basis for speculations about potential progress in communication between the countries.
The statement from China comes after the US President Donald Trump and Finance Minister Scott Bessent hinted that the tensions between the two countries are about to ease.
China is simultaneously urging the US to listen to "rational voices" that are calling on the US to remove its trade tariffs against China, both internationally and internally. Currently, the tariffs stand at 145 percent.
