Another 48 people were reportedly injured in the attacks. Among the injured were a doctor and other staff at an attacked hospital, the ministry said in a statement.
According to the Lebanese state news agency NNA, Israel carried out attacks on around 30 targets in southern Lebanon on Tuesday. The attacks came after Israel was hit overnight by projectiles from Hezbollah.
At the same time, peace talks between Lebanon and Israel are underway in Washington.
Israel and Lebanon could sign a peace agreement tomorrow. Israel has no territorial claims on Lebanon. Hezbollah is what stands in the way, said US Secretary of State Marco Rubio in connection with Tuesday's meeting.
