Enzo Maresca took Leicester to the Premier League last season, but did not follow the club up. The Italian chose instead to sign with Chelsea, where he has made a success during the autumn.
On Saturday, he was back at King Power Stadium in Leicester for the first time since the move, and got to see his Chelsea make life difficult for the home supporters.
Chelsea won the match 2–1, and much of it was thanks to midfielder Enzo Fernandez and striker Nicolas Jackson.
The 1–0 goal came already after a quarter of an hour, when Jackson was played through by the Argentine, and put it in with an elegant outside shot.
Then it took until the 75th minute before the duo stepped forward again. Jackson delivered a close-range header that was saved, but Fernández stepped forward and tapped in the rebound. A goal that would prove to be the decisive one, after a late consolation goal in stoppage time.
Chelsea is in third place in the Premier League, while Leicester is struggling and finds itself in 16th place.
