The English national team defender is therefore not available for play in Chelsea's FA Cup match against Morecambe this weekend.
Chilwell is thinking of moving, so it's better that he doesn't play to avoid injuries, says Chelsea coach Enzo Maresca at a press conference.
There, Maresca confirms that Chilwell may leave in January if Chelsea receives an acceptable bid.
The left-back has only played 45 minutes this season. In total, he has made over 100 matches for the London club since he was recruited from Leicester in 2020. Ben Chilwell was part of the team that won the Champions League during his first season with Chelsea.
Maresca has chosen Marc Cucurella on the left-back position and Chilwell is rumored to end up in West Ham, where former Chelsea coach Graham Potter has just taken over.
