Chelsea has seven goalkeepers on contract – now Spanish Kepa Arrizabalaga, 29, is being loaned out to Premier League competitor Bournemouth for the entire season.
Arrizabalaga became the world's most expensive goalkeeper when he was recruited by Chelsea for approximately 950 million kronor from Athletic Bilbao in 2018.
However, he has never managed to establish himself as the first-choice goalkeeper in the club and was loaned out for the entire previous season to Real Madrid.
He made 20 appearances for Real, who won both La Liga and the Champions League, but lost his regular spot to Andrij Lunin before Thibaut Courtois returned from injury.
Chelsea has recruited masses of players under its American owners, having over 50 players with A-team contracts, including seven goalkeepers.
Big-name players like Romelu Lukaku, Raheem Sterling, and Ben Chilwell are also expected to leave Chelsea before Friday's transfer deadline.
