On the fourth hole during the second round of the PNC Championship – an exhibition tournament where old golf stars play together with their sons or other younger family members – Charlie Woods made his first hole in one in his life.
In front of the eyes of his father and playing partner, Tiger Woods.
On the over 159-meter long par 3-hole, he took out his seven-iron and hit perhaps the best shot of his life.
It was completely incredible. I didn't think it went in. It's hard to believe it before I get to come forward and see it myself, says Charlie Woods in the Max broadcast.
Afterwards, he looked fairly shocked and unaware, since the hole is somewhat hidden behind a bunker in front of the green, before he got a hearty hug from a very proud father.
And it was not far from being a double happiness.
After all 36 holes were finished, Tiger and Charlie were in a shared lead together with Bernhard Langer and his son Jason. But then the Woods duo fell, and had to settle for second place.
