The ceremony took place on Tuesday which would have been Charlie Kirk's 32nd birthday. It was the first Presidential Medal of Freedom that Trump awarded during his second term.
Charlie Kirk was shot to death over a month ago when he spoke to a crowd at a university in Utah. Kirk is generally considered to have driven the debate in the US further to the right and he was a devoted supporter of Donald Trump.
