Already after the Allsvenskan season opener, Mjällby has as many losses as in all of 2025. There were understandably dissatisfied faces after the 0-3 defeat at Hammarby.
"We have many mirrors to look at after this performance," says centre-back Tom Pettersson.
No team has won the Swedish Championship after losing the opening round since the Allsvenskan became a straight series in 1993. That's a statistic Pettersson wants to avoid.
"What the hell am I supposed to do with it? I feel pissed right now, but where we stand after 30 rounds, we'll see."
At the same time, head coach Karl Marius Aksum says he takes full responsibility for the loss.
"Hammarby is giving us problems we haven't had in a very long time. But today I completely missed the game plan," says the Norwegian.
