The building was closed on Tuesday after it was discovered that several employees had developed skin problems. A total of 25 people have experienced symptoms, four of whom have been diagnosed with scabies.
Scabies is a skin parasite that can cause a lot of itching, but it is usually transmitted only through prolonged skin contact.
What is behind the outbreak at Chalmers is unclear.
"I'm not going to speculate on that. I can only say that I don't really understand how it could have spread because it requires such prolonged skin contact," says Henrik Dahlberg, press manager at Chalmers, to GP.
