The Centre Party wants to halve the food VAT for at least the entire next term of office. The party also wants to give the farmers a special tax deduction.

We give the economy of households a significant boost and strengthen the farmers' ability to do what they do best, produce good food with better care for animals and nature than other countries, says C leader Anna-Karin Hatt.

The tax deduction, called agricultural deduction, means a total tax reduction of 800 million for farmers from 2026.

C also proposes that the current national investment support be increased by 250 million kronor per year.

We must invest more in the farms' preparedness. Every farm should be equipped for crisis and war, says Hatt.

The party also wants to invest a hundred million kronor from 2026 in emergency stocks for food and inputs for agriculture.

The proposals are included in the Center Party's upcoming budget motion for 2026.
