There should be a police presence in all municipalities. It may look different depending on local conditions, but the principle should be the same. No municipality should be abandoned by the police, says party leader Elisabeth Thand Ringqvist (C) at a press conference in front of the police station in the Stockholm suburb of Rinkeby.
According to the Center Party, 110 municipalities currently lack a permanent police presence. It doesn't matter if you live in Rinkeby or Rättvik, the party leader believes - there should be a chance to contact the police where you live.
Sweden needs a police force that is present, says Thand Ringqvist.
The party also wants a national offensive against mass crimes, such as theft and vandalism.
"That's a large majority of all reported crimes. It affects many small business owners and families, but at the same time too few crimes are solved," says Ulrika Liljeberg, the Center Party's legal policy spokesperson.
The Center Party highlights, among other things, that the limit for petty theft should be lowered. Today, all thefts under 1,500 kronor are considered petty - the party believes that this amount should be lower, so that more are counted as theft of the normal degree.
The Center Party has previously presented five additional government demands. Investing in young people's mental health and creating more jobs are two of them.
