State-owned Sveaskog's land is around 4 million hectares. C wants to sell the 2.7 million hectares of productive forest land to private individuals rather than companies.

The aim is to finance investments needed for the transition that agriculture is facing and to strengthen food production.

"We know that private forest ownership, especially in northern Sweden, could become much, much stronger," party leader Elisabeth Thand Ringqvist told SVT.

C wants to place other land, such as nature parks and protected areas, into a foundation that will work to conserve nature and protect natural values.
